How Often Did the NYTimes Consistently Lied or Misled Readers of the Past?

Michelle Malkin reports that NYTimes' "transcript" of Al Franken's remark never existed. Now, how often has the NYTimes consistently lied and mislead readers of the past prior to the blogging explosion? It would be nice to gather up the last, oh say, 5, 10 or 20 years of the NYTimes newspaper publication and see how often they purposely mislead readers to think otherwise that was just as blatant as this NYTimes latest disinformation. We all know that the publication is wanton to do this but to see the actual numbers and articles in front of us would be priceless. Their own past would sure to haunt them.
