Matt Hamill: I'm 29.
Kokonut Pundits: I know you went to RIT to study...did you ever visit Gallaudet University?
Matt Hamill: Oh yeah about seven times.
Kokonut Pundits: To visit your friends?
Matt Hamill: For rockfest and deaf olympic tryout and visit friend of mine.
Kokonut Pundits: Ah, the famous Gallaudet University's Rockfest concerts.
Matt Hamill: Ha ha. Yeah!
Kokonut Pundits: What what year was that when you visited Gallaudet and when was the Deaf olympic tryout?
Matt Hamill: A year before Deaf Olympic in 2001 at Italy, Rome.
Kokonut Pundits: And how did you do in Rome? Did you win?
Matt Hamill: Yup. Gold medal in freestyle.
Kokonut Pundits: Was the opponent an easy competitor and you pinned him easily on the mat?
Matt Hamill: Yes.
Kokonut Pundits: Were you surprised that it was that easy to win?
Matt Hamill: As for deaf level there's no challenge.
Kokonut Pundits: How many did you wrestle against to win the gold medal?
Matt Hamill: Three.
Kokonut Pundits: And all three were pinned quickly?
Matt Hamill: No, tech fall.
Kokonut Pundits: Tech fall?
Matt Hamill: Two pins and one tech fall means I score more than ten points and the opponents couldn't score even one point. Tech fall means 10 to 0.
Kokonut Pundits: I see. What are your feelings for the 2008 Olympic? How will they pick you to represent the United States?
Matt Hamill: I'm thrilled to look forward to join the 2008 Olympic team.
Kokonut Pundits: How will they choose a representative for the United States for wrestlers?
Matt Hamill: Well, I have to win the tryouts first. Three of them. If I win that I will go to Las Vegas for third and final tournament.
Kokonut Pundits: What are the dates of those tournaments?
Matt Hamill. I don;t know yet.
Kokonut Pundits: Will it be this year?
Matt Hamill: No. In April of 2007.
Kokonut Pundits: You will have a lot of time to practice and get ready!
Matt Hamill: Oh yeah!
