Yet, when you click on the "Deafhood" it links to it's own Wikipedia entry on "Deafhood." And I couldn't help but noticed this entry.
Numerous deaf and hearing people view 'deafhood' as a closed society, largely due to long history of rejections against those who do not practice and use pure ASL (American Sign Language). Those who did not practice pure ASL were generally rejected by people who practice deafhood theory. For instance, numerous deaf people were categorized as 'deafless' because they were not deaf enough therefore they were rejected from the deafhood community. Numerous deaf individuals that choose to wear cochlear implants, hearing aids and use different communication methods / devices were also rejected by the deafhood community. The general deaf community sees deafhood as an extremist group.Again, here's a screen capture of that entry, too.
Interesting. I'm sure entries will change again and again and again and again and again and again....ad nauseum.
Disclaimer: I am only reporting this as I just found out about it. Somebody created these Wikipedia entries and not I.

According to your declaimer that you did not created these Wikipedia entries but surely you know who did it.
And it smells like Barry Sewell because of his use of the word, closed society.
Mike, most of us know your reputation being a subtle propagandist to destroy the Deaf community working on the betterment for all deaf babies.

If you want to help the deaf people and children, get out in the public and show your genuine integrity character.
This appears to be the work of Barry Sewell who practices the "crab theory" to the fullest extent. The statements are not backed by facts and are personal libelous opinions.
That's why I don't let my students use Wikipedia, except as a starting point toward getting more specific (and accurate) information from more reliable sources. Anyone can pretty much put anything in there, no matter how inaccurate it is.
thats your own thinking-i m extremely disappointed because there was a deafhood seminar-hearing applicants participated. oralists participated. ppl who learned ASL late participated and you call them extremist groups?! you made a choice to negate without going through the journey. again, you don;t want to take this journey and you choose to negate, negate...that explains why im not even interested in replying to your blogs every time i read....it is a one time reply, that's fyi.

As for "destroying" the Deaf community, it's a laughable charge. Just because I disagree with on a variety of deaf-related issues doesn't make me the destroyer of Deaf community. Remember, I have Deaf, deaf, hh, and hearing friends. Your paranoia is getting the best of you.
To anonymous about my "negating" my journey doesn't make any ounce of sense. My journey is just that. My own personal journey through the sea of life filled with experiences. And because of that attitude of yours which makes me say, "Hey, deafhood? Nah. No thanks." Because you want to shove what a personal journey is supposed to be like rather than leaving it alone.

No wonder, Wikipedia lacks credibility due to such characters like him. Editing content is a "free for all" there. Take your chances, believe it or not. And this is clearly false. Shrugs.

It is an excellent example of the most classical statement “He Said & She Said". There is no valid evidence to support that theory of deafness vs. deaf hood. Not deaf enough is something more of the deaf oppression against the certain deaf people with different method of hearing aids, speeches or various sign language.

Look at mirror what you said... If you really want help deaf baby THEN go out and focus on DBC and market the ASL for deaf baby's sake.
Show me your truth character out in public, show me that you do care.
In blog, they have right to speech their own view. Your DBC is "market" ASL for deaf baby.

It not my first time say this to you... it over 3 time. I be watch DBC for pretty long while... I not happy with DBC. I feeling that you don't care about deaf baby... you just watch many blog and throw lot comment... you end up forget that baby was yell for help!!!

Point made here! Deafhood folks were the ones that touted wikipedia when they tried to prove that deafhood and audism were valid terms. And now all of suddenly they want to discredit the very same source. LOL. This is too funny.
John..it's HIGH time you focus on deaf babies and not get into all this silly personal shit. John, a smart advice for you would be to focus on getting the message across to parents of deaf babies and not get into deaf politics. Because when you that, your credibility and your organization's credibility goes into the trash.
I would not take too much stock about what is in Wikipedia. Everyone knows that it is contributed by anyone. Laugh it off. ;)
However, if we have enough evidence to use as cite, I can see how easily dh could be listed permanently soon. So, be mindful how you and/or your organizations behave online.
