Interesting to see the responses in Dianrez's recent blog. One thing I'll have to correct her is her assumption that my recent video was about saving face. Hardly. If she had bothered to pay close attention it was about the ridiculousness of assuming that my quote "Heh heh...my plan is working flawlessly" is meant that I'm somehow planning to "hurt" or "destroy" the Deaf community like some people actually believed here, here, here and most recently today seen here, for example just to name a few. In fact, some people were already proposing these wild conspiracy theories at the very beginning that there were these "super-secret" meetings between me, Barry, Paotie, and whoever else. Before I even started doing the whole Dr. Evil routine quote. That conspiratorial thinking probably started about more than two years ago when Barry first came on the blogging scene in 2008. So, if people were willing to believe some conspiratorial nonsense about us conspiring together for the ultimate destruction of the Deaf community, I decided to have some fun beginning in Paotie's blog in June 2008 doing the whole Dr. Evil act. And again here. I repeated that again probably 3 or 4 times in my blog as well. If people desperately wanted to believe in their own conspiracy theories about me and other Deaf, deaf, hh people getting together to conspire to "hurt" or "destroy" the Deaf community, I decided to play along since they desperately wanted to believe in it anyway.
Get it? I hope you do, Dianrez.
Get it? I hope you do, Dianrez.
Hence with all the recent conspiratorial nonsense thrown about at me as seen in my blog comments lately were probably manifested as a result of my Dr. Evil comment started over two years ago and have since floated throughout the minds of many Deaf readers up to today. Which is why I keep saying, "Remove those insipid thoughts of any lingering conspiracy theory about me. You'll sleep better at night." In other words, you'd be playing yourself for a fool to even suggest such that there is such a plot on taking down the Deaf community. It's just plain common sense.
And, Paotie, I know you're laughing already.
So, the big secret is out! Only that I didn't need to explain all this to you, Dianrez, since the very notion that I'm out to "hurt" or "destroy" the Deaf community would have been absurd to you in the first place. Right? Yet, somehow I have the feeling you didn't quite understand all that simply because of the fact of you calling me out as "saving face" in my latest video vlog which was totally incorrect. Perhaps you haven't been paying attention to this whole "Dr. Evil" scenario I played with the pinky finger in the lips thing on several occassions over the last few years but it's certainly not about saving face. It's about the ridiculousness of how some people actually believe in this whole conspiracy nonsense from the very beginning. Even some "leaders" fell for that nonsense, too. Sure. We expected that people would because they wanted to desperately believe in that.
About Barry and to help calm the nervous minds out there.
The first time I heard of Barry was back in early 2008 when he did his first blog. I enjoyed and liked his philosophy on many things, and so naturally I saw the things he said and agreed with many things on what he said. I think it was the fact that I publicly agreed with him in his blog comments did people began to speculate about us. And since people were already into this conspiratorial thinking mode that somehow we were in collusion on the planning for the ultimate destruction of the Deaf community, the DBC, AFA, Deafhood, and whatever-Deaf-organization-you-can-think-of! Sorry to disappoint you folks but that's pure bunk. Stop being so paranoid as I have said. We do have strong opinions about some of these Deaf organizations, the Deaf "leaders," their way of doing things, and differences in our philosophies, and so on. That pretty much sums it up. But just because we disagree strongly with other notable Deaf people doesn't mean we're out to destroy the Deaf community. That's pretty much common sense right there and I shouldn't even have to explain all this, either, incredibly so.
I decided to sign since I have discussed this before elsewhere on the ridiculousness of that assumption. I see paranoia and suspicion as an ongoing problem in some segments of the Deaf community. Just a tiny fraction, mind you, of those who are actively connected to the internet. This sort of paranoia could be seen in several articles on the AB2072 issue by invoking Godwin's Law along with eugenics and the Nazism labels in articles written by Deaf supporters of AB2072! I blogged about that saying it doesn't make any sense to use Nazi analogies and people shouldn't be using Nazi labels in such a way within the Deaf community. It reflects poorly on them in my opinion. And by pointing that out it's not attacking the Deaf community as some people are wont to believe but about how those articles reeked a sense of desperation.
And, Paotie, I know you're laughing already.

I'm curious now. Exactly what was Dianrez's view of using Nazi analogies in those articles at the height of the AB2072 brouhaha? Did she at all speak up on that? She was strangely quiet about that over the past several months. Dianrez, was it appropriate to use those Nazi-labels, connotations and or implications in those AB2072 articles written up by Deaf people, even by the chapter president (Sacramento) of CAD in order to advance their cause?
Have a good night, folks. Sweet conspiratorial dreams.

Ha, Ha, Ha! I need some laughs. It's the best medicine.
"The Deaf Dr. Evil Plot....exposed!" is the best and funniest blog ever! It's been long time for me to laugh.....
Dianrez will enjoy getting the attention. You're now famous, the new D2, R2-D2's sister from Star Wars, Darling Dianrez. Enjoy! ;-)
The Karate-Ph.D kid, Dr. Don G. made a vlog....."A Kangaroo Court" He still does not get it. Here's the link. Nice try, tho, you need to work on your humor.

Anyway, Paotie, I beg you to come back to your blog. Pam Anderson
needs you.
One of your green favorite commentators in your green couch, Paotie. Miss you, dude.

Ahhh... ha.
You are right... there were NO "super-secret" meetings... Barry just appeared out of nowhere, yup... we never heard of him until he posted his first blog here on DeafRead two years ago. Mostly we exchanged comments in public, on Paotie's blog, Kokonut Pundit's blog, to name a few. Never VPed them. Never IMed them. Never met them in person.
Sorry to disappoint ya who suspected and still suspect us :-) We mostly just voice our opinions, nothing more.
:-)
WG, well, he means well. He tries hard. But you're right. He doesn't get the whole conspiracy theory stuff. Too bad he posted his vlog at on the same day I posted my blog. He was in a hurry, desperate maybe, to defend his name or something. Must've lit his fire. I don't know. He usually have a printed version of his vlog just below the YouTube screen but this time he didn't. Interesting.
Kangaroo court? I wonder if that's even worse than believing in on the conspiracy out to "hurt" or "destroy" the Deaf community?
I think I know why what prompted him to get ticked off. He commented in the "My plan is working flawlessly" blog. Since comments are moderated I approve them along the way. There is also a "spam" box where I think certain key words recognized in Blogger.com causes a comment to get knocked into the spam category box. Either you click on it to "Delete it" or say "Not spam" and gets accepted. I didn't see that since any comments flagged as a possible spam gets put elsewhere under a different tag. I already approved like four or five comments through out the night. And then notice there was one in the spam box. Must've been a few hours or so when that happened.
Whether that's the case, I don't know. Don't care. This whole "Kangaroo court" is just as silly as anything else. Just as silly that I "machine gunning" about the Deaf culture. Hello! Yoohoo, DonG. I've done several interviews with a few of them as well. A three part series interview with Greg Gunderson. Done several interviews with Matt Hamill. One interview with Judy Vardon who was featured in a show "Extreme Home Makeover." Interviewed Steve Sandy on helping him induct "Dummy Hoy" into the baseball Hall of Fame. Blogged about Curtis Pride (pro baseball) Reece-Emerson van Beek (deaf professional cyclist). Phillip Morris (deaf semi-pro football player). Terrance Parkin, a professional swimmer. Ashley Fiolek.
Folks, he has his own opinion. Just like us. Whether people want to respect other people opinions or not is up to them. Each has his or her reason on why. I don't bother with the whys. But he does. But they are opinions nonetheless.
And, oh, there was only two comments I deleted out of probably 200 or so approved comments in my 4 or 5 recent blogs. Everybody has an opinion. Did everybody agree? Of course not. That's life, DonG. But people do have to follow the rules on commenting in Kokonut Pundit's blogs.
For DonG. One helpful hint I'm willing to throw a bone to you since you've fried your brain so much with too much of your intellectual thinking and mumblings, watch what Mayer Tayler has to say here about me. But be forwarned, DonG. I decide on when to do this but sometimes a question is just a question when I ask for it, especially on the "image" question regarding the series of unfortunate events that may or may not have hurt the image of the Deaf community. Sometimes I am interested in what people have to say. So, it's a mixture of things. It's informative, entertaining, enlightening, and sometimes somber.
Paranoia? It's even worse than I thought!
Hi Mike,
While you repeatedly insist that you have been accused of "conspiracy", a careful look at the last several blogs and comments shows that the only one claiming any conspiracy has been you.
Please point me to where the actual accusation of conspiracy came from anybody but you.
It's no doubt a lot of fun to joke around that you've been accused, and pretend that anybody compares you to "Dr. Evil", this claim depends on ignoring that you've blamed other people for a claim that looks to me like you pretty much just made it up and repeated it enough that your friends now believe it came from elsewhere.
So please show me, just where were you guys accused of conspiracy in the last few blogs?
Thanks for keeping it real.
- Linda
Yeah.
That's why I kept and keep saying it was and is all opinions, nothing more. Intellectually stimulating. I don't know, but it seems that we all have some expectation to see action out of talking? When we "disagree", a machine gun is immediately drawn and whoa, lighten up, it's just an opinion, nothing more.
Again... I am NOT naming anyone. I say WE all have our opinions ;-) No need for machine gunning... ~wink~ I like Mike McConnell... he's very thorough with his blogging, especially on the science part.
And he has a very dry sense of humor... which does go over our heads sometimes. Even my head sometimes, ha.
Take care, Mike.
White Ghost wrote: "Dr. Don G. made a vlog....."A Kangaroo Court" He still does not get it."
Dr. Don likely acquired the concept of "kangeroo court" from Carl Schroeder, whom recently published a video on YouTube, "ASLRocks is not a kangeroo court!"
Mr. Schroeder himself recently accused, prosecuted, and convicted two Deaf women of some kind of imagined crimes - he was a one-man kangeroo court in action.
Dr. DonG and Mr. Schroeder have much in common?
A Deaf Pundit left a comment in a recent Kokonut Pundit blog entry, complaining about "leadership" in the Deaf community.
Did Dr. DonG accuse A Deaf Pundit of having her own "kangeroo court"?
Mr. Schroeder and Dr. DonG have much in common?
Why are you paranoid about people being paranoid: you should apply your own rule to yourself "No juvenilia. In case you didn't understand the word "juvenilia" it means acting like a child. Kokonut Pundit had its fill of the occasional insipid insult phrases that pervade the cybersphere, and they will not be permitted here."
Linda, I already provided the links.
Er, no one was comparing me to that of Dr. Evil. That's was my doing. guess some people don't appreciate the dry wity humor of mine.
What I was referring to, again, was the quote "Heh heh, my plan is working flawlessly..." that some Deaf people kept referring (see the links I gave) to as something that's menacing. An "evil," dastardly plan of mine to ensure to see the Deaf community crumble!!! Ok. An exaggeration but I hope you get my drift there. Of course, it was never like that, not even remotely. Maybe re-read what I wrote just so you won't misunderstand. Others already understood this.
anony 10:59 AM
Pretty odd to say "paranoid about other people being paranoid." Now, who actually believed that I had some kind of dastardly plan behind my quote "Heh heh...my plan is working flawlessly! *rubs hands*" I've already linked to several people who quoted themselves that they actually believed that I was out to "hurt" or "undermine" or "destroy" the Deaf community. Perhaps you need to talk to those people first about their paranoia.
Nice try but fun.
Some people just can't handle the truth, so they come up with all kinds of stuffs. Crazy stuffs.
If they were true to themselves, they wouldn't be in fear of the truth.
Mike in no way compares with any of the notorious machine gunners out there.
What is interesting tho, is when Mike points out this image within the deaf community, he didn't really turn the focus on one person in particular, although several individuals were brought up. There were no machine gunning right there, just factual information. It wasn't personal in nature, just facts that reiterates what is already NEWS (not rumors or gossips.) Yet, when other notorious machine gunners get real personal about someone, we see the ones that tend to climb all over Mike typically just refuses to climb over these notorious machine gunner. That, there...shows that they just can't handle the truth.
Funnier yet is that the very ppl who accuse Mike for negativity, conspiratorial thinking, personal attacks, etcetera never brought he-that-shall-not-be-named to task for actually doing those very things in the deaf community online.
That silence speaks volumes.
At least with Mike, you know he ain't gonna call ya "f**ktard" and elaborate why based on hearsay. ;)
Ann_C
Candy, and Ann,
Really odd responses I get from people whenever I ask questions, form strong opinions about certain issues on deafness, certain "leaders," certain events or talk about certain organizations do they somehow in their own minds see it as if I'm "attacking" or "hurting" the Deaf community. Just for asking questions that no one would probably not do (well, maybe a few of us stalwarts). Which is funny. Which makes me wonder whether those responses are manifested in the form of these outward paranoia responses - "Why you! You're out to hurt our community!"
*sarcasm* Right. LOL.
My approach may be different but it's certainly not about trying to "hurt" or "destroy" the Deaf community. Despite that, you can almost see their gears turning inside their heads with their conspiratorial thoughts.
Yeah, interesting perspective on truth. Truth is relative, all right.
What I believe is that we speak our minds and we don't follow the "mindset", we get gunned down. When I write my blog, I do not target anyone personally and I have no plans to.
The level of maturity is different in the cyberspace, all right. I guess it all depends on how comfortable we feel in our skin... I try leaving my comments addressed to the blogs' topics and I try apologizing when I feel my comments go off of the point, letting the owners of the blogs they could delete my comments if they are irrelevant.
Well, Karen. I can you this. This whole "Dr Evil" quote thing I did actually worked. Some people ran with it like a Banshee whenever I said that and said, "See? See that? He's planning to "hurt" the Deaf community!" And I've linked to four examples of people who used my quote saying how I was out to somehow "destroy" the Deaf community, DBC, AFA, or whatever. Perfect examples of paranoia in action. And this idea floated around in many people's heads for the last two years. It's gotten ridiculous. They can't even accept the fact that what we say are opinions and that we disagree on how things are done or what other people say. Instead of recognizing that their little gears in their heads churn with conspiratorial thoughts that somehow we guys are planning a takeover of some sort. Really, just plain funny. Yeah, Paotie's laughing, too.
Mike, Barry, Paotie, Karen, let me know soon if we can go ahead and set up our own Bilderberg Group at a hotel, where we can privately discuss our plans frankly. No blogging, no reporting, no Deaf activist involved. We can have security to ward off any snooping Deaf activist. We have to be real hush-hush about this. Super-secret.
Anything to keep our Deaf conspiracy theorists wildly busy with their paranoia about us.
Heh. ;)
