Making threats to DVTV

I happened to take a quick peek at DVTV to see what's up and came across KissASL's vlog about canceling a dance contest due to getting several emails threatening to "damage DVTV" if she goes ahead with the contest of hers. This is example of bullying in action. Whoever sent those emails is a friggin' moron and a coward who think the answer is to issue threats to the person and to ruin or damage DVTV just because he or she doesn't agree with what she's doing. I hope whoever sent those emails get caught for sending threatening materials to her and against DVTV. It doesn't matter who or what the issue is, it is simply inexcusable to write such an email letter to anybody on the matter of disagreements by making threats. This is almost just as bad for a deaf person to wish the death of a deaf father's baby son in the hope that he falls on the baby killing the infant (yes, this actually happened). Whatever. Such threats or wishes of harm or damage are inexcusable. Such actions are for the limp, weak minded people who can't handle such a simple concept like agreeing to disagree. Making threats over a dance contest on DVTV? We definitely have morons in our midst who have the inability to think constructively.

Most threats should be taken with a grain of salt, because that's pretty much all it amounts to: a mere threat. Physical threats should be reported to the appropriate authorities, however specific threats to "damage" any website should be ignored because if the person sees that his or her threat was successful to whatever effect, he or she will do it again. To stop threats, they need to be ignored which renders them ineffective.

We need to rise above whatever emotion the threats may impose upon us. I know not to "buy" this threat, because I know people have been, for a long time, trying to damage DVTV. It is a matter of knowing when to respond and when not to.

I don't blame "Kiss ASL" for responding as she did. Many have in the past, in a similar manner. Over the years, I've grown numb to these types of threats and insults. I wouldn't have been able to do this without the support of those close to me. I think most people see this, and so have stopped. Thick skin takes time to grow and nurture. I say nurture, because I've learned over the years that you shouldn't have either thick or thin skin. One or the other. I learned that I should alter the thickness of my skin depending on the situation. Every situation is different and requires an unique response. And sometimes not responding is the best response. :)

Indeed, Tayler.

It's sad to see bullying in action. I'd still say that person is a gutless moron to do that.

Damage DVTV? LOL.

As long as you have a good head on your shoulder you should do well regardless.

Been there, done that! I agree with Tayler and it gets old. I don't blame Kiss ASL and she should continue to do the contest.
For those who did it will not sleep well every night. Also, their lives will always stay the same or worst. It's a human nature.

The truth behind the latest threat is based on jealousy. It happened because KissASL became more active at DeafVideo.tv than she was at ASLRocks.net. End result? Somebody from ASLRocks.net made the threat. All because she promoted DeafVideo.tv more than she did for ASLRocks.net.

The threat did not have much to do with the upcoming dance vlog she was going to do.

It's an indication of desperate behavior coming from ASLrocks.net camp. Their world's getting smaller each day and rightfully so.

My 15 years (at that time) old son boldly predicted their fall in one of his earlier vlog. Have to give credit where it's due because it was not difficult for a young man to see what was really wrong with the picture.

I like what Tayler had to say here and agree with him. Many of us have become numb to these type of threats. We scoff at them now because it's happening once too often.

Barry,

All the more how much petty it would look for the person who sent that threatening email. The key here is the person who runs the show and how the attitudes of vloggers reflect on him and vice versa. The person who encourage hate to his followers reflect exactly that same attitude by taking the low road. Doing nothing about it tells us something about that group mentality based on utter hatred.

Sorry. I want nothing to do with it. I'm smarter than that.

I already did my shout out on my blog. Issuing threats over email is not cool.

It's kinda old news considering the 1st incident back in the fall was real bad. I walked out of that site which unexpectedly started a massive exodus.

That site doesn't deserve crap or sponsorship at all. It's funny, I did predict it's gonna crash, too when I left that site. Now, it's a hallow shell of its formal life. A pity, truly.

Too much of a tyranny over the mind of man (credits to Thomas Jefferson), which is simply a flying pile of manure with a bunch of flies buzzing about.
