It really depends... "better" or "equivalent to hearing" since I'm not sure how much better it would be... I'm profoundly deaf here. I don't work for the VRS industry nor am I a teacher, but it seems almost all "successful" deaf people I know are working in these places.

that is a pretty loaded question. but first, are you asking for oneself or for one to put in to help the entire population? for example, moving forth with a new invention so that deaf people could get better communication access? but at the same time, wouldn't this be like asking people that rely on wheelchairs how much they are willing to spend on wheelchair ramps or lifts to give them increased accessibility in the workplace? Are you referring to areas that could be covered by the ADA or areas not covered by the ADA? would people spend more money on this if it were FULLY tax deductible, and not partially? you would probably be better off taking this poll and putting it into some type of small survey with like 10 questions so that way you can get a better breakdown instead of having one fully loaded question that could have different answers for different reasons.
Val, whatever kind of technology you feel you can use to ensure a better career path, business opportunities and/or promotion potential that you are personally willing spend money on.
