McCaskill speaks

From ABC7 News:
“I’m here back at the university and thrilled to be back here,” she says. “I know there are many challenges ahead for me and I look forward to working with the faculty, staff and students here as we move forward to make Gallaudet a more inclusive university and the area of higher education that shows respect for different points of view.”
But it's strange that university officials would not comment further on why they decided to reinstate McCaskill's position as Chief Diversity Officer saying that it was a personnel matter. Personnel matter? Like president Hurwitz turning it into a circus show by making it public for all to see about their own personnel, Dr. Angela McCaskill?

Dr. Angela McCaskill is correct that Gallaudet University needs to learn to be a more inclusive university that shows respect for different points of view.

You can't be Gay and inclusive clearly. The whole thing blew up in the Gay campaigners faces. At least deaf are able to say 'this far, NO further !' Good on them. Rights are out of control and no-one is using common-sense or fairness any more.

Apparently the latest keyword among those who objected to McCaskill going back to Gallaudet has to do with:

White Privilege

Understanding intersectionality

But, within that framework, there's a lot of backstabbing and vitriol thrown against this group of people, who once stood together on deafhood ideology.

Strange.

I just find it all strange.

I always thought USA deaf were attempting to produce their own tongue in cheek version of an politically correct dictionary lol I doubt any other country in the world with deaf, spends so much wasted time dreaming up nonsensical terms for the sheer hell of it as no-one outside the USA takes any notice..... The USA has so many bright people, but they let everyone else down with this ridiculous obsession with words.

Hmmm, interesting, somebody from the FCC visited this blog piece. I got the info thru my sitemeter that recorded the visited. The FCC visited Deafread which then clicked on a link to the "McCaskill speaks" blog piece. Probably some deaf guy working at the FCC.
