Here are a list of hurricane bloggers who are in the path of Hurricane Katrina.

What I Tend to Believe - Lives in Gulf Port, MS. He's sticking it out. Probably a fool.

Darth Oogie Boogie - 40 miles? southwest of New Orleans.

Ash Kahchan - lives in Baton Rouge, LA.

Hattie's Blog - Hattiesburg, MS. About 80 miles north of Gulf Port, MS.

IPWOLOGY - Hattiesburg, MS.

Morning Sickness - Lives near Mobile Bay, AL.

Altjiranga Mitjina - Slidell, LA

John's Online Journal - lives near Lake Ponchartrain, Covington, LA. This is an area most concerned for flooding from Lake Ponchartrain.

Dummocrats - lives in New Orleans.

Wizbang - popular blogger lives in New Orleans.

The Virtual Dollhouse - lives near New Orleans.

Rabid Pixie - lives in New Orleans. She already evacuated and made her last blog.

Ophelia Muffet - lives 125 miles north of the coast in Missississippi.

Izzy Mo's Blog - a Muslim (anti-war) live blogging from the New Orleans International Airport Garage.

Kaye's Hurricane blog - near Lousiana State University.

Unapologetic - blogs on the road. Will cover the 100K people unable to get out.

The Subconcious Machine - a barkeep in New Orleans. Plans to stay in storm. Famous last words.

Modblog - planned to stay at his house, but knew better. Staying at some hotel on the 2nd floor outside of New Orleans(?).

Insomnia - has a good list of Livejournal bloggers with many of them staying in the path of the storm although not exactly sure where they are located. Haven't looked at each individual journal.

Shyblue - Lives in LaPlace, LA, which is about 20 miles west of New Orleans near the southwestern edge of Lake Ponchartrain. Lives in a trailer. Plans to evacuate a little further out.

Libertas - lives in Baton Rouge, LA. Will try and blog as long as power is on.

NOLA (New Orleans, LA) Cams - lot of them are functioning...so far. You can get live video feed as well. Best site for cams in New Orleans on the hurricane.

UPDATE: Some very serious and ominous notes from NOAA for those who are close to the coastline to even 20-40 miles inland.

URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW ORLEANS LA 413 PM CDT SUN AUG 28 2005

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS HURRICANE KATRINA CONTINUES TO APPROACH THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER DELTA DEVASTATING DAMAGE EXPECTED MOST OF THE AREA WILL BE UNINHABITABLE FOR WEEKS…PERHAPS LONGER.

AT LEAST ONE HALF OF WELL CONSTRUCTED HOMES WILL HAVE ROOF AND WALL FAILURE. ALL GABLED ROOFS WILL FAIL…LEAVING THOSE HOMES SEVERELY DAMAGED OR DESTROYED.

THE MAJORITY OF INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS WILL BECOME NON FUNCTIONAL. PARTIAL TO COMPLETE WALL AND ROOF FAILURE IS EXPECTED.

ALL WOOD FRAMED LOW RISING APARTMENT BUILDINGS WILL BE DESTROYED. CONCRETE BLOCK LOW RISE APARTMENTS WILL SUSTAIN MAJOR DAMAGE…INCLUDING SOME WALL AND ROOF FAILURE.

HIGH RISE OFFICE AND APARTMENT BUILDINGS WILL SWAY DANGEROUSLY…A FEW TO THE POINT OF TOTAL COLLAPSE.

ALL WINDOWS WILL BLOW OUT. AIRBORNE DEBRIS WILL BE WIDESPREAD…AND MAY INCLUDE HEAVY ITEMS SUCH AS HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES AND EVEN LIGHT VEHICLES. SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES AND LIGHT TRUCKS WILL BE MOVED. THE BLOWN DEBRIS WILL CREATE ADDITIONAL DESTRUCTION.

PERSONS…PETS…AND LIVESTOCK EXPOSED TO THE WINDS WILL FACE CERTAIN DEATH IF STRUCK. POWER OUTAGES WILL LAST FOR WEEKS…AS MOST POWER POLES WILL BE DOWN AND TRANSFORMERS DESTROYED.

WATER SHORTAGES WILL MAKE HUMAN SUFFERING INCREDIBLE BY MODERN STANDARDS.

THE VAST MAJORITY OF NATIVE TREES WILL BE SNAPPED OR UPROOTED. ONLY THE HEARTIEST WILL REMAIN STANDING…BUT BE TOTALLY DEFOLIATED. FEW CROPS WILL REMAIN. LIVESTOCK LEFT EXPOSED TO THE WINDS WILL BE KILLED.
